county after passing the controversial law compelling companies to
employ locals
- Waititu, reiterated that 70% of the people employed in the county
must be locals from within and that schools should also admit student
from the region only
- The controversial governor urged his fellow governors to adopt the
same law to enhance devolution in their counties
- Kiambu county assembly unanimously passed a motion that forced all
institutions and companies to employ 70% of their workforce from the
local dominant community
Newly elected Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu on Friday,
December 15 lauded his MCAs after they passed the controversial
employment law.
Waititu urged governors from other counties to adopt the same law
citing that the devolution bill stated that 70% of the work force should
be from the region while 30% from outside.
